Degree Distinctives
My academic journey in the ThM has been defined by rigorous inquiry and the pursuit of theological depth. I have conducted research and received mentorship under Dr. Kevin Wong, Professor of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. My internship research has focused on anthropology through a Biblical lens as well as Christology, and his mentorship has assisted me in my plans to pursue a PhD of Theology.
Through my internship, seminars, and academic papers, I have developed a nuanced understanding of the theological landscape and where I want to pursue further education in the form of a PhD. My internship work emphasizes the importance of scholarly integrity and the application of academic research to the lived realities of ministry among many cultures.
Each seminar and research project has contributed to a growing body of work that seeks to bridge the gap between academic theory and cultural application. This foundation is essential for my continued development as a theologian and minister, especially in the classroom context. Please note that this portfolio is only a snapshot of my experience during the my internship and Master of Theology degree.

ThM, general emphasis
Definition, and Academic Experience: This degree encompasses a multitude of topics, however I am one class shy of having a Theology emphasis. For this reason, I have focused many of my classes on historical theology and philosophy. Additionally, I have taken many classes that cover Old Testament subjects. My senior project will be focused on the Theology of Death in the book of Job, under the supervision of Dr. Robert Chisholm and my internship has focused on the research process for academic works and the details involved in the pursuit of a PhD in Theology.
Reflective Statements:
Learning Reflection: Throughout my ThM I grew in my appreciation for historical theology as well as appreciating the Old Testament stories. I have grown in my appreciation of historical theology because I have been able to see the influence that it has on our intepretation of the Bible today. One of the most memorable classes that influenced my learning about this subject was the Augustinian Theology class, taught by Dr. Daniel Hill. I have also grown to appreciate the relevance of the Old Testament stories to our everyday lives.
Lifelong Learning Statement: As a result of the work that I have done both in Theology and in Old Testament, especially through my internship and capstone paper, I am hoping to continue my studies in a pursuit of a PhD in Theology. Specifically, I want to write about the Theology of Death in the Bible. I want to pursue this topic because it is a little-researched subject and a taboo conversation amongst people, even Christians. However, this topic is important because if one knows what death touches one can understand what redemption entails.
